Dimensional expeditions

Your island gateway takes you to a destination chosen from the dimensions available to your island. Extra dimensions come from other mods; the gateway doesn’t install them.

The default dimensional cycle lasts 15 minutes. Everyone follows the current cycle: entering with two minutes left gives you two minutes to return. Leaving and going back in doesn’t reset it. Watch the HUD and return through the portal you arrived beside before it reaches zero.

In 1.1.0, the home gateway works during both day and night. Sleeping or changing Minecraft’s time doesn’t restart the dimensional cycle. The pack’s separate daylight cycle lasts 20 minutes: 15 of day and 5 of night.

The cycle pauses when no players are online or singleplayer is paused. Logging out while other players remain online doesn’t stop the shared deadline.

The return portal closes and you become trapped. Find the Dimensional Fracture and fight the Rift Guardians around it. Each guardian drops two Dimensional Fragments. Right-click the fracture with fragments until it is ready, then step in to return home. A Rift Compass, if you have one, helps locate it; /dc expedition also shows your escape status.

The default repair cost starts at four fragments and rises with island tier. Only Dimensional Fragments work in 1.1.0; amethyst and other materials aren’t repair fuel. Guardian waves also get harder as the island grows.

While trapped, ordinary teleport commands and vanilla portals can’t take you home. Dying isn’t a shortcut out either. If the escape process breaks, report it rather than deleting world data.
